Senior Business Intelligence Developer - United States (Remote)
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will play a diverse and far-reaching role across an enterprise client providing leadership and influencing adoption of BI technical solutions, strategies and design patters across multiple teams and partners. You will:
- Research and understand the organization's vision, goals, and strategies as well as business BI consumption needs of multiple groups
- Drive self-service capabilities with the business, train business teams on new technical capabilities and how to consume the data effectively
- Evaluate vendors/technologies and prove out new tools/capabilities quickly and provide readouts to the management teams
- Build relationships across the enterprise, working with analytics and data teams for insights and best practice sharing
- Partner with functional and business stakeholders to understand strategic business analytics requirements
- Provide guidance in driving solutions - along with effective issue management and communication to key stakeholders - while delivering successful end results
- Provide thought leadership on future-state BI-related technologies and processes
- Conceive, design, and implement technology solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, and investigating problem areas
- Mentor/supervise a team of one or more and guide and evaluate the performance of those individuals; accountable for the effective performance of the team/individuals
Skills/Knowledge Required
- 5+ years of experience with BI Architecture and Solution Development in either Microstrategy, Tableau, or PowerBI, Looker (ideally with multiple)
- Strong understanding in SQL and relational databases
- Experience with end-to-end product implementations
- Expertise in providing strategy and thought leadership around BI technologies and processes
- Experience working with vendors including product assessments
- Very strong presentation skills with the ability to present findings and influence others as well as expertise in the use of PowerPoint
- Ability to look ahead to identify opportunities and thrive in a culture of innovation
- Self-starter who can prioritize work to make the largest impact on the businesses/customer's vision and requirements
- Team management experience with an ability to nurture & mentor others in the team
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Strong collaboration skills to build teams across business boundaries
- Experience/exposure to multiple data visualization tools such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
Skills/Knowledge Preferred:
- Proficiency in understanding semantic models, data models, and BI DW methodologies
- Experience and familiarity with cloud computing like Azure & GCP
